Opel continues to increase its sales in Europe
The German manufacturer has significantly increased its sales in Europe in the first half of 2011 compared to same period last year.
In the first six months of this year, vehicle sales grew by more than 50,000 cars, or 8.2%. During this time, the market share rose to 6.4%, compared with 6.2% for the same period last year. In total, between January and June, Opel has sold about 659,000 vehicles across Europe. Opel and its British sister brand, Vauxhall have increased their market share in 19 of the 27 European markets.
The Meriva and Astra Sports Tourer have been particularly important successes, as both lead their respective segments in Europe.
